Vision software was developed by RV Dealer Dan Gamel who wanted greater control over the sales operations in his RV sales centers. Some of Gamel's sales managers had much better desking skills than others and those dealerships had consistently higher sales volumes and greater gross profits. He sought a way for his strongest sales Manager to desk the deals for all of his stores believing that his sales volume would double if that were possible. But in the mid-1990's there were limits to technology and it wasn't possible for one person to be in nine places at once. Fast forward to 2007. Technology advanced and Gamel's desire for a central "desking" position became a reality when his Vision software was ready for testing.
Beta Test Discoveries & Success
Vision software was placed in Gamel's nine RV sales centers in late 2007 and beta testing began. A Central Desk office was established that received and "desked" all sales offers that were received in his dealerships and through his website. Implementation of the program was easy. Getting buy-in from his sales staff was not.
A hard-line approach was required for all salespeople to utilize the Vision system. After only 30 days, even the most obstinant of his staff agreed that Vision was a smart and efficient program and selling system and, if given a choice, they wouldn't go back to the former paper 4-square. By mid-2008, third party sales data from Statistical Surveys proved that Vision aided the company in increasing sales and gaining market share even in the worst sales period that the industry had experienced.
